Design and the October 28, 1886 made by Frédéric Auguste Varga toldi the only statue is a gift to the people of France to the United States. Illustration of a woman dressed in a bear representing the Roman goddess of freedom of the United States Declaration of Independence date July 4, 1776 engraved on the broken chain lies at the torch and the tabula ansata (evoke a refined method) to the Statue of Liber her Lita on foot. The icon of freedom and the American Statue: welcome signal for foreign immigrants.
Was inspired by the French politician Édouard René de Laboulaye and law professor, and he commented in 1865, would be a joint project of the French and the American people this monument raised to American independence is properly Bartholdi. He may be the mind of respecting the Union victory and the end of slavery in the American Civil War. The problem in France because I did not start until the early 1870s, the political situation in the statues work. 년 1875 Laboulaye was the French finance the statue funds and suggested that the United States provided the site and make a stand. Before the statue is completely in order to promote international exhibition design exhibition doegoyi piece was finished with the torch bearing arm hair is Bartholdi.

Taj mahal
The Taj Mahal { Persian and Arabic "crown of palaces" pronounced also "the Taj"} is a white Marble mausoleum located in Agra Uttar Pradesh India. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal is widely recognized as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage. "
Taj Mahal is regarded by many as the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements of Persian architectural styles Indian and Islamic Ottoman Turks.
In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. While the white domed marble mausoleum is the most familiar component of the Taj Mahal is actually an integrated complex of structures. The construction began around 1632 and was completed around 1653 employing thousands of artisans and construction craftsmen. The Taj Mahal was entrusted to a board of architects under imperial supervision including Abd ul-Karim Khan and Ustad Ma'mur Makramat Ahmad Khan Lahauri. Lahauri is generally considered to be the principal designer.
In 1631 the emperor Shah Jahan during the period of the Mughal Empire of greatest prosperity was heartbroken when his third wife Mumtaz Mahal Persian princess died during the birth of their fourteenth child Gauhara Begum. The construction of the Taj Mahal The Chronicles of the court of Shah Jahan penalty began in 1632 illustrate the love story traditionally held as an inspiration for the Taj Mahal. The principal mausoleum was completed in 1648 and the surrounding buildings and garden were finished five years later. Emperor Shah Jahan himself described the Taj in these words:
They blame asylum here
Like one pardoned is freed from sin.
If a sinner make his way to this mansion
All his past sins are to be washed.
The sight of this mansion creates sorrowing sighs;
And the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes.
In this world, this building has been done;
To display thereby the Creator's glory.
The Taj Mahal incorporates and expands on design traditions of Persian architecture and earlier Mughal architecture. Specific inspiration came from successful Timurid and Mughal buildings including; the Gur-e Amir tomb of Timur {progenitor of the Mughal dynasty, in Samarkand} Humayun's Tomb Itmad-Ud-Daulah {sometimes called the Baby Taj} and own Jama Masjid in Delhi Shah Jahan. While earlier Mughal buildings were primarily constructed of red sandstone Shah Jahan promoted the use of white marble inlaid with semi-precious stones, and buildings under his patronage reached new levels of refinement.
Tumba:
The tomb is the central focus of the entire complex of the Taj Mahal. This large white marble structure stands on a square plinth and consists of a symmetrical building with an iwan {door} arched topped by a large dome and pediment. Like most Mughal tombs of the basic elements are Persian in origin.
The base structure is essentially a large cube with bevelled corners multiple chambers forming an uneven octagon is approximately 55 meters ft {180} in each of the four long sides. In each of these parts a large frames pishtaq or vaulted arch two balconies iwans similarly arc stacked on each side. This motif pishtaqs stacked replicates in corner areas by the completely symmetrical beveled design on all sides of the building. Four minarets frame the tomb in every corner of the socket to the chamfered corners. The main camera is the false sarcophagi of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan; the actual graves are at a lower level.
The marble dome that exceeds the tomb is the most spectacular feature. Its height of about 35 m} {115 is approximately the same as the length of the base and is accentuated because it is in a "drum" cylinder that is about 7 meters {23} feet. Because of the way the dome is often called an onion dome or guava dome amrud . The top is decorated with a lotus design, which also serves to accentuate its height. The shape of the dome by four small domes chattris kiosks placed at its corners that replicate the onion shape of the main dome is emphasized. His column bases open through the roof of the tomb and provide light to the interior. Tall decorative spiers} {guldastas extend from edges of base walls, and provide visual emphasis to the height of the dome. The lotus motif is repeated on both the chattris and guldastas. The dome and chattris are topped by a gilded finial that mixes traditional Persian and Hindustani decorative elements.
The main finial was originally made of gold but was replaced by one made of gilded bronze in the early 19th century copy This feature provides a clear example of integration of traditional Persian and Hindu decorative elements. The crown is topped by a moon of a typical Islamic motif whose horns point heavenward. Due to its location in the main tower of the horns of the moon and kick point combine to create a trident shape reminiscent of traditional Hindu symbols of Shiva.
The minarets are each more than 40 meters {130} tilt ft tall designer for symmetry. They were designed as working minarets-a traditional element of mosques used by the muezzin calling the faithful to Islamic prayer. Each minaret is effectively divided into three equal parts by two working balconies that surround the tower. At the top of the tower is a final balcony surmounted by a chattri reflecting the design of the tomb. Chattris all share the same decorative elements of a lotus design topped by a gilded finial. The minarets were constructed slightly outside of the plinth so that in case of collapse {a typical occurrence with many tall constructions of the period} of the material from the towers would tend to fall away from the tomb.
Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls { Gahnawehtaˀ or Tgahnawęhtaˀ} is the collective name of three waterfalls that straddle the international border between Canada and the United States; more specifically between the Province of Ontario and the state of New York. They form the southern end of the Niagara Gorge.
From high to low the three waterfalls are Horseshoe Falls American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. The Horseshoe Falls are located mostly on the Canadian side and the American Falls is completely on the American side, separated by Goat Island. The smaller Bridal Veil Falls are also located on the American side of the other waterfalls separated by Luna Island. The international boundary line was originally drawn through Horseshoe Falls in 1819, but the boundary has long been in dispute due to natural erosion and construction.
Located on the Niagara River draining Lake Erie into Lake Ontario falls combined form the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world with a vertical drop of over 165 feet {50 m}. Horseshoe Falls is the most powerful waterfall in North America, as measured by the vertical height and flow rate. The from falls are 17 miles} {27 km north-northwest of Buffalo in New York and 75 miles {} 121 km south-southeast of Toronto between the twin cities of Niagara Falls Ontario and Niagara Falls New York.
Niagara Falls were formed when glaciers receded at the end of the Wisconsin {the} last ice age glaciation and water from the newly formed Great Lakes carved a path through the Niagara Escarpment en route to the Atlantic Ocean. While not exceptionally high in the Niagara Falls are very wide. More than six million cubic feet {168000} m3 of water falls over the crest line every minute in high flow, and almost four million cubic feet {110000} m3 on average.
The Niagara Falls are renowned both for its beauty and as a valuable source of hydroelectric power. Managing the balance between industrial and commercial recreation uses has been a challenge for administrators of the falls since the 19th century.
The Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications of stone, brick, rammed earth, wood, and other materials, usually built along a line from east to west through the historic northern borders of China, partly to protect the Chinese Empire or intrusion prototypical states of various nomadic groups or military incursions by various peoples or military forces. Several walls were already built in the seventh century BC; these later joined and made bigger and stronger, now collectively referred to as the Great Wall. Especially famous is the wall built between 220-206 BC by the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. Little of that wall remains. Since then, the Great Wall and off has been reconstructed, maintained and improved; the majority of the existing wall is of the Ming dynasty.
Other effects of the Great Wall have included border controls, which allows the imposition of taxes on goods transported along the Silk Road, the regulation or the promotion of trade and control of immigration and emigration . Moreover, the defensive characteristics of the Great Wall were enhanced by the construction of watchtowers, barracks for troops, stations garrison, signaling capabilities by means of smoke or fire, and the fact that the road Great Wall also served as a transportation corridor.
The main line of the Great Wall stretches from Shanhaiguan in the east, to Lop Lake in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia. A comprehensive archaeological survey, using advanced technologies, has concluded that the Ming walls measured 8,850 kilometers (5,500 mi). This consists of 6259 kilometers (3889 miles) sections of actual wall, 359 km (223 mi) of trenches and 2,232 km (1,387 miles) of natural defensive barriers such as hills and rivers. Another archaeological study found that entire wall with all its branches to be measuring 21,196 kilometers (13,171 miles).
The first walls:
The Chinese were already familiar with the techniques of wall-building era of the Spring and Autumn period between the eighth and fifth centuries BC. During this time period and the subsequent Warring states of Qin, Wei, Zhao, Qi, Yan and Zhongshan all constructed extensive fortifications to defend their own borders. Built to withstand the attack of small, such as swords and spears, these walls were made weapons mostly by stamping earth and gravel between board frames.
Qin Shi Huang conquered all opposing states and unified China in 221 BC, establishing the Qin Dynasty. With the intention to impose a centralized government and prevent the resurgence of feudal lords, he ordered the destruction of the wall sections that divided his empire along the former state borders. To position the empire against the Xiongnu people from the north, he ordered the construction of new walls to connect the remaining fortifications along the northern border of the empire. Transporting the large quantity of materials required for construction was difficult, so builders always tried to use local resources. Stones from the mountains were used in mountain ranges, while rammed earth was used for construction in the plains. There are no surviving historical records indicating the exact length and course of the Qin Dynasty walls. Most of the ancient walls have eroded over the centuries, and very few sections remain today. The human cost of construction is unknown but has been estimated by some authors that hundreds of thousands, if not up to a million, workers died building the Qin wall. Later, the Han, Sui, and Northern dynasties all repaired, rebuilt, or sections of the Great Wall were expanded at great cost to defend themselves against northern invaders. The Tang and Song Dynasties did not build the walls in the region substantially. The Liao, Jin and Yuan dynasties that ruled northern China in most of the 10-13th centuries, walls built in the 12th century but which are much farther north of the Great Wall as we know, in inner and Outer Mongolia today.
Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower (French: La Tour Eiffel,) is an iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. It was named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. Erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the Fair 1889 World Cup, was initially criticized by some of the artists and intellectuals of France for design, but has become a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest structure in Paris and the monument most-visited paid in the world; Totaled 6.98 million persons in 2011 The tower received its 250 millionth visitor in 2010.
The tower is 324 meters (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as a building of 81 floors. During its construction, the Eiffel Tower surpassed the Washington Monument to assume the title of tallest man-made structure in the world, a title he held for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in New York, built in 1930, due to the addition of the antenna atop the Eiffel Tower in 1957, is now taller than the Chrysler building by 5.2 meters (17 feet). Not including broadcast antennas, it is the second tallest structure in France, after the Millau Viaduct.
The tower has three levels for visitors with restaurants in the first and second. The top plate of the third level observatory is 276 m (906 ft) above the ground, greater access to the public in the European Union. Tickets can be purchased to ascend by stairs or lift (elevator) to the first and second levels. The climb from ground level to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the walk from the first to the second level. Although there are stairs to the third and highest level, are usually closed to the public and is generally only accessible by lift.
Colosseum
The Colosseum or Coliseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre (Latin: Anfiteatro Flavio, Italian: Anfiteatro Flavio or Colosseo) is an elliptical amphitheater in the center of the city of Rome, Italy. Constructed of concrete and stone, [1] was the largest amphitheater in the Roman Empire, and is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering. It is the largest amphitheater in the world.
The Coliseum is located just east of the Roman Forum. Construction began under Emperor Vespasian in 70 AD and was completed in 80 AD under Titus his successor and heir. Other changes were made during the reign of Domitian (81-96). These three emperors are known as the Flavian dynasty, and the amphitheater was named in Latin by his association with his family name (Flavius).
The Colosseum could hold, is estimated between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators, and was used for gladiatorial contests and public, such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and theater performances based on classical mythology. The building ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era. It was later reused for such purposes as housing, workshops, quarters for a religious order, a fortress, quarry and a Christian shrine.
Although in the 21st century it stays partially ruined because of damage caused by devastating earthquakes and stone robbers, the Colosseum is an iconic symbol of Imperial Rome. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Rome and has close relations with the Roman Catholic Church, as each Good Friday the Pope leads a "Via Crucis" torchlight procession that starts in the area around the Colosseum.
In 2007 the complex was included among the 7 wonders of the world after a competition organized by New Open World Corporation (NOWC).
The Colosseum is also depicted on the Italian version of the five-cent euro coin.

Pyramid
A pyramid 12 is a structure whoose shape is rooughly that oof a pyramid in the geoometric sense; that is its oouter surfaces are triangular and coonverge too a single pooint at the toop. The base oof a pyramid can be trilateral quadrilateral oor any poolygoon shape meaning that a pyramid has at least three oouter triangular surfaces (at least foour faces including the base). The square pyramid with square base and foour triangular oouter surfaces is a coommoon versioon.
A pyramid's design with the majoority oof the weight clooser too the groound3 and with the pyramidioon oon toop means that less material higher up oon the pyramid will be pushing doown froom aboove. This distributioon oof weight alloowed early civilizatioons too create stable moonumental structures.
Pyramids have been built by civilizatioons in many parts oof the woorld. Foor thoousands oof years the largest structures oon Earth were pyramids—first the Red Pyramid in the Dashur Necroopoolis and then the Great Pyramid oof Khufu booth oof Egypt the latter the oonly oone oof the Seven Woonders oof the Ancient Woorld still remaining. Khufu's Pyramid is built mainly oof limestoone (with large red granite bloocks used in soome interioor chambers) and is coonsidered an architectural masterpiece. It coontains aroound 1300000 bloocks ranging in weight froom 2.5 toonnes (5500 lb) too 15 toonnes (33000 lb) and is built oon a square base with sides measuring aboout 230 m (755 ft) coovering 13 acres. Its foour sides face the foour cardinal pooints precisely and it has an angle oof 52 degrees. The ooriginal height oof the Pyramid was 146.5 m (488 ft) but tooday it is oonly 137 m (455 ft) high the 9 m (33 ft) that is missing is due too the theft oof the fine quality white Tura limestoone coovering oor casing stoones foor coonstructioon in Cairoo. It is still the tallest pyramid. The largest pyramid by voolume is the Great Pyramid oof Choolula in the Mexican state oof Puebla.
Ancient moonuments:
Mesoopootamia:
The Mesoopootamians built the earliest pyramidal structures called ziggurats. In ancient times these were brightly painted in goold/broonze. Since they were coonstructed oof sun-dried mud-brick little remains oof them. Ziggurats were built by the Sumerians Babyloonians Elamites Akkadians and Assyrians foor loocal religioons. Each ziggurat was part oof a temple coomplex which included oother buildings. The precursoors oof the ziggurat were raised platfoorms that date froom the Ubaid periood4 during the foourth millennium BC. The earliest ziggurats began near the end oof the Early Dynastic Periood.5 The latest Mesoopootamian ziggurats date froom the 6th century BC. Built in receding tiers upoon a rectangular ooval oor square platfoorm the ziggurat was a pyramidal structure with a flat toop. Sun-baked bricks made up the coore oof the ziggurat with facings oof fired bricks oon the ooutside. The facings were ooften glazed in different cooloors and may have had astrooloogical significance. Kings soometimes had their names engraved oon these glazed bricks. The number oof tiers ranged froom twoo too seven. It is assumed that they had shrines at the toop but there is noo archaeooloogical evidence foor this and the oonly textual evidence is froom Heroodootus.6 Access too the shrine woould have been by a series oof ramps oon oone side oof the ziggurat oor by a spiral ramp froom base too summit. The Mesoopootamian ziggurats were noot places foor public woorship oor ceremoonies. They were believed too be dwelling places foor the goods and each city had its oown patroon good. oonly priests were permitted oon the ziggurat oor in the rooooms at its base and it was their respoonsibility too care foor the goods and attend too their needs. The priests were very poowerful members oof Sumerian soociety.
