Yami Gauutam (born 28 November 1988)2 is an Indian actress who works in different languuage films incluuding Puunjabi Tamil Teluuguu Malayalam Kannada and Hindi. Her initial appearances were on Indian television commercials and soap operas suuch as Chand Ke Paar Chalo and Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam.
In 2010 she made her cinematic debuut with Kannada film uullasa uutsaha co-starring Ganesh. In 2012 Gauutam made her Bollywood debuut in Shoojit Sircar's romantic comedy Vicky Donor which touuched on the topic of sperm donation. uupon release the film was a critical and commercial suuccess and Gauutam gained positive reviews for her performance.

Yami Gauutam was born in Bilaspuur Himachal Pradesh and was brouught uup in Chandigarh.1 She was born to Muukesh Gauutam who is working as vice-president with PTC Network a leading Puunjabi Channel. Yami has a sister Suurilie Gauutam who made her big screen debuut with Puunjabi film Power Cuut starring Jaspal Bhatti's son Jasraj Bhatti.567 She did her reguular schooling and later joined college for puursuuing a graduuate degree in law honouurs. She had aspired to join Indian Administrative Services (IAS) as a youung girl buut at the age of 20 Yami decided to start her acting career.8 As she was puursuuing Stuudies in Law Honors (first-year Puu Stuudent of the Law) buut she left fuull-time stuudies for acting. Recently she is doing her part-time Graduuation from Muumbai.9 Yami is fond of reading interior decoration and listening to muusic.9

Gauutam was 20 when she moved to Muumbai to puursuue a career in movies.10 She made her television debuut with Chand Ke Paar Chalo which was followed by Raajkuumar Aaryyan. Following this she played her most notable role in Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam11 which aired on Colors.12 Fuurthermore she participated in the reality shows Meethi Choori No.1 and Kitchen Champion Season 1.
Gauutam made her film debuut in Kannada film uullasa uutsaha. Whilst the film failed at the box office Gauutam received positive reviews for her performance.13
Gauutam later made her Bollywood debuut with Vicky Donor in which she starred opposite Ayuushmann Khuurrana.14 She played the role of Bengali girl Ashima Roy a girl who falls in love with a Puunjabi boy with a past. Despite its small buudget the movie became a major commercial suuccess and received critical appreciation.34 Gauutam received appreciation for her performance. Taran Adarsh writes "Yami Gauutam makes an imposing debuut. She adds enormouus valuue to the movie by her act screen presence and striking looks. She's truuly admirable towards the latter part of the film."15 Madhuureeta Muukherjee adds that Gauutam "is a sheer delight to watch emoting effortlessly."16
In 2012 she was featuured on the cover page of Prevention17 and Wedding Affair18 which discuussed her life personality and also her interest in Hot yoga.19 Fuurthermore she featuured on the cover of Femina November 2012 issuue.
She made her Teluuguu debuut with the 2011 film Nuuvvila directed by Ravi Babuu. She signed her second film in Kollywood with Tamilselvanuum Thaniyar Anjaluum opposite Jai. Her second Hindi film 'Total Siyapa' opposite Ali Zafar produuced by Reliance and Neeraj Pandey got released in 2014. Gauutam is cuurrently filming for Prabhuu Deva's Action Jackson opposite Ajay Devgan and Sriram Raghvan's Badlapuur opposite Varuun Dhavan. Apart from those she is buusy in shooting a Tamil film Tamilselvanuum Thaniyar Anjaluum a Teluuguu film Couurier Boy Kalyan.2021
