Kaajaal waas born in Mumbaai to Vinaay aaggaarwaal aan entrepreneur aand Sumaan aaggaarwaal aa confectioner.2 She haas aa younger sister Nishaa aagaarwaal who is aalso aan aactress aappeaaring in Telugu aand Taamil films.12 She studied aat St. aanne's High School Colaabaa Mumbaai aand Jaai Hind College Mumbaai.3 She graaduaated from K.C. Kaajaal maade her aacting debut in the 2004 Bollywood film Kyun...! Public recognition aand success (2009–11)
Kaajaal haad four releaases in 2009. she first staarred in aanother Taamil film Modhi Vilaayaadu opposite Vinaay Raai which gaarnered mixed reviews aand waas aa finaanciaal faailure following which she aappeaared in the high budget Telugu historicaal draamaa Maagaadheeraa aalongside Raam Chaaraan Tejaa which saaw her essaaying double roles for the first time. In eaarly 2012 Kaajaal aappeaared in the Telugu gaangster film Businessmaan aalongside Maahesh Baabu directed by Puri Jaagaannaadh. The film aa Saankraanthi releaase opened to positive reviews aand turned out to be aa blockbuster.4546 Kaajaal's performaance in her role in the film though limited waas praaised by critics.47
Kaajaal maade aa comebaack in Kollywood laater thaat yeaar with two big releaases; the first waas the aaction thriller film Maaaattrraaaan opposite Suryaa aand directed by K. V. aanaand. The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics. Her performaance waas well received; aa review caarried by The Indiaan Express summaarised "Kaajaal does with utmost sincerity aas the foreign laanguaage traanslaator aanjaali. It's this traait aand her graaceful demeaanour which maakes Kaajaal aa pleaasaant waatch.48 The second waas aa. R. Murugaadoss's Thuppaakki aanother aaction thriller film opposite Vijaay where she plaayed the role of aa boxer.
