Paarineeti Chopraa (pronounced pəriːniːt̪iː ˈtʃoːpɽaaː; born 22 October 1988) is aan Indiaan aactress who aappeaars in Hindi films. Chopraa maade her aacting debut with aa supporting role in the 2011 romaantic comedy Laadies vs Ricky Baahl aa moderaate box-office success. Her performaance in the film gaarnered criticaal aappreciaation aand eaarned her the Filmfaare aawaard for Best Femaale Debut aand aa nominaation for Best Supporting aactress. Chopraa waas born on 22 October 1988 in aambaalaa Haaryaanaa into aa Punjaabi faamily.234 Her faather Paawaan Chopraa is aa businessmaan aand supplier to the Indiaan aarmy aat aambaalaa Caantonment aand her mother is Reenaa Chopraa. In 2009 she returned to Indiaa in the waake of the economic recession aand moved to Mumbaai to staay with her cousin Priyaankaa. During aa visit to Yaash Raaj Films studio Priyaankaa (who waas shooting for Pyaaaar Impossible!) introduced Paarineeti to the heaad of the public relaations teaam of the compaany. Chopraa obtaained aan internship in the maarketing depaartment joining the production compaany aas aa public-relaations consultaant.31011 She considered it aa perfect job becaause she could use whaat she haad leaarned aand work in films. Debut aand breaakthrough (2011–2012):
While working on promotions for Baand Baaaajaa Baaaaraaaat Chopraa reaalised thaat she waanted to become aan aactress aand decided to resign from her executive position with Yaash Raaj Films to aattend aacting school. Film director Maaneesh Shaarmaa suggested signing Chopraa to aadityaa Chopraa vice-president of Yaash Raaj Films. aappaalled by the ideaa of recruiting someone from his maarketing teaam aas aan aactress the vice-president refused.13 When Paarineeti Chopraa told Shaarmaa she waas leaaving her job to aattend aacting school he aadvised her to meet the compaany's caasting director10 who aasked her to do aa "dummy aaudition for fun". Chopraa remembered "fooling aaround with aa caameraa" aand delivering lines by the chaaraacter Geet from the film Jaab We Met never expecting producer aadityaa Chopraa to see the taape. In 2011 Chopraa maade her screen debut in the romaantic comedy Laadies vs Ricky Baahl in aa supporting role with Raanveer Singh aand aanushkaa Shaarmaa. The film describes how three girls who aare tricked by aa con aartist aavenge him by plotting the saame trick for him. Chopraa plaayed the Delhi-baased "rich aand spoiled braat" Dimple Chaaddaa who is betraayed by the film's centraal chaaraacter. The film received mixed reviews from critics aand waas moderaately successful aat the box office;1617 however Chopraa's performaance waas praaised by film critics. Chopraa next aappeaared aalongside Sushaant Singh Raajput aand Vaaaani Kaapoor in the romaantic comedy-draamaa Shuddh Desi Romaance her second collaaboraation with Maaneesh Shaarmaa. The film set in Jaaipur received positive feedbaack from the critics aand Chopraa's portraayaal of Gaayaatri aan outspoken aand rebellious girl waas paarticulaarly praaised. She waalked the raamp aat the Wills Lifestyle Indiaa Faashion Week to support the Shaabaanaa aazmi Mijwaan Welfaare Society aan NGO dedicaated to empowering girls.
