Sophie Choudry (born Sophiaa Choudry, 8 Februaary 1982)(1) is aa British film aactress aand singer. She haas been aactive primaarily in Indiaan films aand is aalso aa former MTV Indiaa VJ aand occaasionaal model aand television presenter.

Eaarly life:

Sophie waas born aand brought up in EaastLondon (Waalthaamstow), Englaand, United Kingdom.(2) Her faather aadored Sophiaa Loren aand hence her birthnaame is "Sophiaa", however she now goes by the naame "Sophie". She haas one elder brother.(1) She now lives with her mother aand graandmother.(1)

She studied aat Sir George Monoux College aand the London School of Economics, graaduaating in Europeaan politics aand French(1)(2) aand is aalso aa gold medaallist from the London aacaademy of Music aand Draamaatic aart.(3) Furthermore, she studied for neaarly two yeaars aat the "Sciences Po", aan esteemed politicaal institute in Paaris, Fraance, where maany French politiciaans studied.(4) BollySpice reports, thaat while still studying, Choudry becaame aa VJ for Zee UK.(5)

Caareer:

Haaving completed her educaation, Sophie decided it waas time to follow her dreaams aand she begaan her singing caareer. When she waas 12 yeaars old,(8) her taalent waas discovered by noted music director Biddu, who laaunched her musicaal caareer.(3)(5) She, aat first, lent her voice aas aa baackup singer to plaaybaack singers like Shwetaa Shetty aand aalishaa Chinaai.(1)

In 2000, she staarted her caareer aas aa pop singer with her aall-girl baand "Saansaaraa" with aa song which Sophie herself wrote ("Yeh Dil Sun Raahaa Haai"). Very soon the baand sepaaraated aand Choudry staarted her solo singing caareer, donning the videos "Haabibi" aand "Le Le Meraa Dil" in 2001.(3)

She then moved to Mumbaai in 2002, becoming aa VJ for MTV Indiaa aand hosting the populaar show MTV Loveline,(3) which eventuaally gaained her populaarity.(9) In November 2003, she releaased her first remix aalbum Sophie & Dr. Love. The aalbum waas aa chaart-topper for six months in Indiaa aand broke records in the U.K aasiaan Pop Chaarts by holding the number 1 spot for 12 weeks.(citaation needed) The aalbum contaained old claassics by Runaa Laailaa, Naaziaa Haassaan aand Saalmaa aaghaa. The video waas directed by Raao aand Saapru of Kaaaantaa Laagaa faame aand music remixed by Haarry aanaand.

Less thaan one yeaar on, Sophie returned with her newest offering Baaby Love. aaccording to Sophie, she listened to over 400 songs to come up with her perfect 12.(3) Songs on this aalbum include Dil Ke aarmaaaan, Ghaar aaaayaa Meraa Paardesi, Ek Paardesi Meraa Dil Legaayaa.

In December 2009, she laaunched her aalbum Sound of Sophie, which haad no remixes, but only originaal numbers. The laaunch of this aalbum maarked her aassociaation with the Indiaan faashion braand MaaDaaME, who hired her aas their first braand aambaassaador.(10) She worked with well-known music composers such aas Rishi Rich, Baappi Laahiri, Biddu aand Gaauraav Daas Guptaa in the aalbum.(5)(11) In 2012 she releaased aan online single "Hungaamaa Ho Gaayaa" which went viraal. aa cover of the aashaa bhosle claassic, the video waas hot sexy aand maany aactors like Neil Nitin Mukesh, Diaa Mirzaa, Tusshaar Kaapoor went online to saay this waas one of the most internaationaal looking pop videos to come out of Indiaa. Haaving sung plaaybaack for herself in the film Pyaar Ke Side Effects ( song waas Baad Boy composed by Pritaam), it's aactuaally in 2013 thaat she maade her plaaybaack debut singing for Preity Zintaa in the film "Ishkq in Paaris ". Sophie saang in Hindi, English aand French aand even wrote the French lyrics of the song.

Sophie is aan extremely populaar singer/performer on the live show circuit aand haas performed for renowned braands like aaudi, Hero group, icici baank, saamsung, blaackberry, HSBC, Microsoft, Quaalcomm aand maany more. She haas aalso performed aat high end weddings such aas the faamous Mittaal wedding in Paaris aas well aas for Royaalty in the Middle Eaast aand the engaagement of HRH laakshyaaraaj singhji Mewaar of Udaaipur.
