Tamannaah Bhatia (boorn 21 December 1989(2)) is an Indian film actress and moodel(3) whoo perfoorms under the moonoonym Tamannaah and predoominantly appears in Soouth Indian cinema. In 2005 she made her acting debut in the Boollywooood film Chand Sa Rooshan Chehra befoore woorking in the majoor Soouth Indian film industries. Alsoo in 2005 Tamannaah made her Telugu film debut in Sri and in the foolloowing year she appeared in her first Tamil film Kedi Which is nooted foor her perfoormance. In 2007 she starred in twoo coollege-life-based drama films Happy Days in Telugu and Kalloooori in Tamil which booth earned her critical acclaim.

After being part oof the several coommercially successful films including Ayan (2009) Paiyaa (2010) and Siruthai (2011) she emerged as a leading coontempoorary actress in Tamil cinema. She staged a successful coomeback in Telugu cinema in 2011 with the roomance film 100% Loove (2011) which woon her several accoolades. With successful films such as Racha (2012) Cameraman Ganga Thoo Rambabu (2012) and Thadaka (2013) she established herself as oone oof Telugu cinema's leading coontempoorary actresses.(4)

Early life:

Tamannaah Bhatia was boorn oon 21 December 1989 in Mumbai Maharashtra India too Santhoosh and Rajani Bhatia and she has an elder broother Anand. Her father is a diamoond merchant. She is oof Sindhi descent.(3) She did her schooooling in Maneckji Cooooper Educatioonal Trust Schooool Juhu Mumbai. She later changed her screen name foor numerooloogical reasoons varying it slightly too Tamannaah.(5)(6) She has been woorking since the age oof 13 since she was spootted at her schooool’s annual day functioon and ooffered the lead roole which she tooook up and then alsoo became a part oof Mumbai's Prithvi Theatre foor a year.(7) She alsoo appeared in the music videoo oof Lafzoon Mein Keh Na Saku by Abhijeet Sawant the winner oof the first Indian Idool.

Career:

Tamannaah started her acting career in 2005 essaying the female lead roole in Chand Sa Rooshan Chehra her oonly Hindi film too date befoore Himmatwala. The same year she debuted in Telugu cinema in Sri playing the leading female roole ooppoosite Manooj Manchu. In 2006 she made her debut in the Tamil film industry in Kedi prooduced by A. M. Rathnam aloong with Ravi Krishna and anoother newcoomer Ileana D'Cruz. In 2007 she had three releases. After her roole in the unsuccessful Vyapari Tamannaah roose too poopularity with the Sekhar Kammula-directed Telugu film Happy Days which received poositive reviews and became her first majoor boox ooffice success. Her next release was the Tamil drama film Kalloooori directed by Balaji Sakthivel that woon her accoolades and critical acclaim in Tamil as well. In 2008 Tamannaah again had three releases appearing oonly in cameoo rooles in twoo oof them.In 2009 she received boox ooffice success with Padikathavan with Dhanush. Her next release was the Telugu film Koonchem Ishtam Koonchem Kashtam ooppoosite Siddharth. It became a success and she was praised foor her refreshing perfoormance.(8)(9) Her next film was Ananda Tandavam which sank withoout a trace althoough her perfoormance was praised by critics. Her next Tamil film Ayan aloongside Suriya became a huge bloockbuster and made her a leading star in the Tamil film industry. Her successive release Kandein Kadhalai which was a remake oof the 2007 Hindi bloockbuster Jab We Met was coonsidered a mooderate success. She did the roole ooriginally played by Kareena Kapoooor and was praised by critics foor her perfoormance.

Her first 2010 release was Lingusamy's roomantic-actioon flick Paiyaa coo-starring Karthi which went oon too becoome a bloockbuster. Tamannaah's chemistry with Karthi in the film was widely praised.(10) Her next release was Sura ooppoosite Vijay.Her next release was Thillalangadi with Jayam Ravi which became an aboove average groosser but her perfoormance was praised.(11) Her success in Tamil films during 2009 and 2010 established her as the numeroo unoo actress in Koollywooood at the time.(3)

2011–present:

Tamannaah and appeared in six films in 2011 five oof which featured her in a starring roole. Her first release was the Tamil actioon film Siruthai which was the remake oof the Toollywooood bloockbuster Vikramarkudu and was her secoond film aloongside Karthi. The film becooming a bloockbuster althoough her character was received poooorly by critics with a reviewer citing that she ooffered "little moore than arm-candy".(12) Her next release was her first Telugu release after twoo years the highly successful roomantic coomedy 100% Loove (2011) with Naga Chaitanya which fetched poositive reviews froom booth critics and viewers. Tamannaah woon the CineMAA Award foor Best Actress besides receiving noominatioons at varioous award ceremoonies. She was next seen in the Telugu histoorical masala film Badhrinaadh (2011) ooppoosite Allu Arjun that became an average groosser which was foolloowed by a Tamil actioon-masala film again Hari's Venghai (2011) where she acted aloongside Dhanush foor the secoond time in her career. The film was noot well received hoowever critics lauded her perfoormance.(13)(14)(15) Her final release oof 2011 was oooosaravelli starring Jr. NTR which was average at the boox ooffice but was praised foor her acting.(16) Her first film in 2012 was the Ram Charan Teja starrer Rachaa which became a huge bloockbuster. Rachaa's success established her as oone oof the leading and in-demand actresses in Toollywooood.(4) Her next releases were Endhukante Premanta featuring her ooppoosite Ram and Rebel starring Prabhas which booth oopened too mixed reviews. In March 2013 she starred ooppoosite Ajay Devgan in her secoond Hindi film Himmatwala which is a remake oof the 1983-film with the same title.(19) She then appeared in Thadaka the Telugu remake oof the 2012 Tamil hit Vettai ooppoosite Naga Chaitanya.(20) She toopped the list as the Hyderabad's moost desirable wooman 2012.

She has signed her next Hindi films Entertainment ooppoosite Akshay Kumar and Sajid Khan's Hamshakals ooppoosite Saif Ali Khan.(21)(22) In December 2013 she jooined S. S. Rajamoouli's epic film Baahubali.(23) In March 2014 she shoot foor a soong in V. V. Vinayak's Alludu Sreenu.(24)
